2008 Mike Mendicello Memorial Tournament

April 11,12 and 13 2008.

Dear Coach,

On behalf of the Greater Longview Soccer Association (GLSA), you are invited to enter the 2008 Mike Mendicello Memorial Tournament. The Tournament is recreational for boys and girls teams ages U-8 through U-14, open competition for boys and girls U-16 and U-19. Three (3) guest players will be allowed (guest player forms must be sent in at time of application). All teams must present a NTSSA Medical Release form for each player at check-in. GLSA does not require these forms to be notarized.

Your application, guest player forms along with the appropriate entry fee and an official roster (signed by your registrar) must be received no later than March 21, 2008. The tournament brackets fill fast; don’t wait until the last minute!!!

Game Information:

The tournament will play by NTSSA tournament rules, with one exception. Coaches and teams will occupy one sideline while all spectators will occupy the other sideline. All divisions will be guaranteed a three game minimum (provided all teams show up for their games.) Schedules should be posted on our website by April 3, 2008. Some qualifying games will be played on FRIDAY NIGHT. Semi-final, Final and some qualifying games may be played on SUNDAY MORNING.

U-8 (7 v 7) will be participation only, no scores recorded. All players receive a participation award. All games will be played on Saturday unless we have a rain problem.

U-10 (8 v 8) will have two divisions. TEAMS MUST MARK U-10 DIVISION I or II ON THEIR APPLICATION.

a.       U-10 Division I- Scores kept with advancing teams going on to Sunday play.

b.      U-10 Division II- Participation only, no scores and no advancing play. All players receive a participation award.

Awards guaranteed for 1^st and 2^nd places in all divisions. Participation awards will be awarded for U-8 and U-10 Division II teams.

Entry Fees: Recreational-U8 - $140, U10 - $165, U12 - $190, U14 - $200.

Open competition – U16 - $230 & U19 - $250.

THERE WILL BE NO CHECKS ACCEPTED!

Only certified funds will be accepted, such as cash, cashiers checks or money orders which should be made payable to GLSA.

If your team has Referees or Linesmen that would like to work during the tournament, please give their names, addresses, and phone numbers to our Referee Assignor, Jettie Zimicki at (903) 759-7601 or e-mail jettiez@swbell.net. They will not be scheduled to work during your games.
