2008 Fall Fest Tournament

October 10, 11 & 12, 2008

Dear Coach,

On behalf of the Greater Longview Soccer Association (GLSA), you are invited to enter the 2008 Fall Fest Tournament. The tournament is recreational for boys’ and girls’ teams ages U-8 through U-14, and open competition for boys’ and girls’ teams U-16 and U-19. Three (3) guest players will be allowed. All teams must present an NTSSA medical release form for each player at check-in. GLSA does not require these forms to be notarized.

Your application, appropriate entry fee, and official registrar-signed roster must be received no later than September 20, 2008. The guest player release deadline is October 3, 2008. Tournament brackets fill fast. Do not wait until the last minute.

The tournament will play be NTSSA tournament rules, with one exception: coaches and teams will occupy one sideline while all spectators will occupy the other sideline. All divisions will be guaranteed a three-game minimum, provided all teams show up for their games. Schedules will be posted at www.longviewsoccer.com by Friday, October 3, 2008.

Some qualifying games will be played on Friday night. Any remaining qualifying games, the semi-final and final will be played on Sunday.

U-8 (7 v 7) will be participation only, no scores recorded. All players will receive a participation trophy. All games will be played on Saturday unless there is a rain problem.

U-10 (8 v 8) will have two (2) divisions. Teams must mark division on the application.

a. U-10 Division I – Scores are kept, advancing teams going to Sunday play.

b. U-10 Division II – Participation only, no scores, and no advancing play. All players receive a participation trophy.

Trophies are guaranteed for 1^st and 2^nd place in all divisions. Participation trophies are awarded for U-8 and U-10 Division II teams.

Entry fees:

Recreational U-8: $140, U-10: $165, U-12: $190, U-14: $200

Open U-16: $230, U-19: $250

Only certified funds will be accepted. Cashier’s checks or money orders should be made payable to GLSA. PERSONAL CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

If your team has referees or linesmen that would like to work during the tournament, please give their names, addresses, and phone numbers to our referee assignor, Jettie Zimicki, at 903-759-7601. They will not be scheduled to work during your games.
